It is with deep regret and profound sadness that we announce the passing of General Ahmed Fouly, President of the African Taekwondo Federation and Vice-President of World Taekwondo. General Fouly has passionately worked to develop the sport and Taekwondo in Africa and around the world for more than thirty years. With a soft voice, a calm face, and paternal kindness, he was the mentor of many young people in his entourage. At Swiss Taekwondo, many of us have worked with him, refereed matches with him, sat on many committees, and met him during his many visits to Lausanne. We will not forget what we learned from him, the numerous supports, and above all, his invaluable friendship. May you rest in peace, dear Ahmed.
Nous avons le profond regret et la tristesse de faire part du décès de Général Ahmed Fouly Président de la Fédération Africaine de Taekwondo et Vice-Président de World Taekwondo. Général Ahmed Fouly a œuvré au développement du sport en Afrique et dans le monde entier depuis plus de trente ans. Une voix douce, un visage calme et des attentions toutes paternelles, il était le mentor de nombreux jeunes dans son entourage. A Swiss Taekwondo, nous sommes plusieurs à l’avoir côtoyé, à avoir arbitré des matchs avec lui, à avoir siégé dans de nombreux comités et à l’avoir rencontré lors de ses nombreuses visites à Lausanne. Nous n’oublierons pas ce que nous avons appris de lui, les supports nombreux et par-dessus tout son amitié inestimable. Repose en paix, cher Ahmed.
Mit tiefem Bedauern und tiefer Trauer geben wir den Hinschied von General Ahmed Fouly, Präsident der African Taekwondo Federation und Vizepräsident von World Taekwondo bekannt. General Fouly setzt sich seit mehr als dreißig Jahren leidenschaftlich für die Entwicklung des Sports und des Taekwondo in Afrika und auf der ganzen Welt ein. Mit einer sanften Stimme, einem ruhigen Gesicht und väterlicher Freundlichkeit war er der Mentor vieler junger Menschen in seinem Umfeld. Viele Mitglieder von Swiss Taekwondo sind ihm begegnet und haben mit ihm zusammengearbeitet als Schiedsrichter, in vielen Komitees gesessen oder ihn bei seinen vielen Besuchen in Lausanne getroffen. Wir werden nicht vergessen, was wir von ihm gelernt haben, die zahlreichen Unterstützungen und vor allem seine unschätzbare Freundschaft. Ruhe in Frieden, lieber Ahmed.
