We held the 2-day training in Macolin for Swiss National Poomsae Referees which started with half day theory, followed by a thorough review of Poomsae from Taeguk Il Jang to Chongkwon with Poomsae National Team Coach Maria Gilgen.

Even if Sipjin and Jitae and Chongkwon are not part of Swiss Championships at the moment, the idea is to gradually bring Swiss championships in line with international competitions with a U50 and over 50 category and higher poomsae as well.
We had 15 participants at this year’s training in preparation for the Swiss Championships in June. On the second day, We had the pleasure to judge poomsae executed by members of the National Poomsae Team.

The aim of this course is to

  • Have a common understanding of the execution and details of the poomsae across Swiss clubs and what the correct poomsae form is,
  • Train the Poomsae referees so that the best Poomsae wins every time at Swiss Championships,
  • Continue to build the camaraderie and common purpose of Referees and Clubs in Switzerland to improve our knowledge, execution and refereeing of Poomsae.
