Small Team, Big Success
On March 29, 2025, the Ramus Skopje Open took place in Macedonia. Among the participants were three athletes from Taekwondo Winterthur, who brought home one silver and two bronze medals.
Dionis Memeti dominated his opponents and secured 3rd place. Unfortunately, he narrowly missed advancing to the final.
Sophie Lewis once again proved that she is a force to be reckoned with. She also just missed out on the final but secured 3rd place with ease, earning important points in her first year as a junior.
Jason Albertin competed in a G-tournament for the first time. With strong match management, he fought his way past his opponents until he ultimately had to concede defeat in the final against Europe’s No. 2.
Their coach, Simon Wiesner, is very proud of his athletes. “I think all three have shown what they are capable of. This proves that we are on the right track, and I am excited for them and the entire Swiss team as we look forward to more tournaments.”
