On April 12, our annual Delegates Assembly took place in Fribourg. Like every year, discussions were lively and the numerous participants were actively involved. A highlight in the afternoon was the farewell of two board members and the election of new ones—with a record-breaking 14 candidates standing.

The new board of Swiss Taekwondo now consists of the following members:
Continuing members: Jean-Marie Ayer, Mergim Krasniqi, Peer Steinkellner, Maria Gilgen, Walid Younes
Newly elected: Flavio Da Silva Souza, Radwa Shalabi, Nicole Reusser

We bid farewell to Mark Thompson, who is turning to new projects, and to Thomas Kläy—a long-standing board member who helped shape and build Swiss Taekwondo significantly. We thank both sincerely for their incredible commitment over the years.

After budget discussions, three key topics took center stage: coach/trainer education, Kukkiwon Switzerland, and the shortage of referees in Swiss Taekwondo. Flavio, with his in-depth knowledge of Swiss Olympic and BASPO structures, provided clear answers regarding education. As for Kukkiwon Switzerland, the members voted to align the waiting time for the Dan test with Kukkiwon by the end of the year.

The referee shortage in Switzerland remains an ongoing issue. The assembly approved an increase of CHF 10.00 in the Swiss Championship participation fee. These additional funds will support the invitation of international referees and the training of national referees.

During the break, participants enjoyed networking and informal exchanges. The new board carries forward many ideas and suggestions—and is already looking forward to working together.
