It is with deep regret and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Honorary President, Grand Master René Bundeli. Mr. Bundeli introduced Taekwondo to Switzerland, founded Swiss Taekwondo, and served as its president for over two decades. He was the sole holder of the 9th Dan Kukkiwon in Switzerland and held prominent positions such as Executive Board Member of World Taekwondo, Chairman of the Games Committee at the Beijing Olympic Games 2008, and Chairman of the Referee Committee of World Taekwondo.
Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. Grand Master René Bundeli passionately taught and promoted Taekwondo in various places around the world. For more than fifty years, he mentored numerous young people in his Dojang and across Switzerland. We will forever cherish the lessons learned from him, his generous support, and, most importantly, his invaluable friendship. May you rest in peace, Grand Master René Bundeli.
A memorial service to celebrate the remarkable life and contributions of René Bundeli will be held as a private ceremony for family members only. Swiss Taekwondo will honor his legacy on another occasion.
