Valuable Experience for Swiss Athletes at the Austria Open
Swiss athletes returned from the Austria Open 2025 in Vienna with valuable international experience, great energy, and a few well-deserved medals.
This prestigious event welcomed hundreds of athletes from around the world, including strong teams from
Hong Kong, Malaysia, Guatemala, the Philippines, and the USA – raising the competitive level significantly.
Despite the tough competition, our athletes gave it their all and represented Switzerland well - with pride and determination.
Notable Results:
- Reto Bucher: 3rd place in Master 1 (7 competitors)
- William Helsen: 3rd place in Cadet (13 competitors)
- Nayeli Höner: Ranked 17th out of 44 in Junior Female
- Mathieu Tanael: Ranked 17th out of 25 in Junior Male
- Liv Van Aarnhem: Ranked 17th out of 52 in Senior 1
- Masha Chavanne: Ranked 33rd out of 52 in Senior 1
The Austria Open proved once again to be a high-level international competition and an important step in the development of our young athletes. Every match offered valuable lessons in focus, strategy, and resilience.
