Successful Weekend for the Swiss Poomsae Team at the Portugal Open

The Portugal Open once again provided a strong international stage for Taekwondo athletes from across Europe. The Swiss national team delivered an impressive performance, bringing home four impressive medals: two gold and two bronze! 

In the Cadet category, William Helsen claimed 1st place with a clean and dynamic presentation of his forms. In the U50 category, Luis Sanchez earned bronze in the individual event and another bronze in the pairs competition alongside an Estonian partner. Nayeli Höner also shone, finishing 5th in the junior individual category and taking gold in the pairs event with a Portuguese teammate. 

A special highlight for Swiss Taekwondo: Maria Gilgen, national coach of the Swiss Poomsae team, took part as an international referee for the very first time. Swiss Taekwondo warmly congratulates her on this important milestone in her refereeing career and extends congratulations to all athletes for their outstanding performances.
