Kukkiwon Office Switzerland Poomsae & Para-Taekwondo Seminar - A Successful Easter Weekend
Kukkiwon Office Switzerland Poomsae & Para-Taekwondo Seminar — A Successful Easter Weekend
Despite the Easter holiday weekend, around thirty participants gathered for a two-day seminar organised by the Kukkiwon Office Switzerland, led by Grandmaster Mustapha Moutarazak. The strong turnout, with many Black Belts, reflected the enthusiasm and commitment of the Swiss Taekwondo community.
Saturday: Poomsae Forms from 1 to 16
The morning session focused on competition poomsae, working systematically through Taegeuk Poomsae 1 to 8 in line with the programme. The afternoon continued from 14:00 to 17:00, covering Poomsae 9 to 16. A separate group for red belt practitioners ran in parallel, giving intermediate students dedicated attention and a focused training environment. Both sessions concluded on schedule and were well received by all participants.
Sunday Morning: Freestyle Poomsae
From 09:00 to 12:00, approximately twenty participants took part in a Freestyle Poomsae session. With around 90% of the time dedicated to theory and 10% to practice, the session offered a rich and thought-provoking introduction to this creative discipline and was widely praised as one of the highlights of the weekend.
Sunday Afternoon: Para-Taekwondo
The final session of the weekend was devoted to Para-Taekwondo, focusing entirely on the theoretical framework and rules of the discipline. This too was very well received, with participants leaving with a deeper understanding of an area of our sport that deserves greater attention and awareness.
A Motivated Community
Clubs from across the region were represented, and feedback from all participants was unanimously positive, with a strong sense of motivation and shared purpose at the close of each day. Each session closed with a group photo, a fitting reminder that Taekwondo, at its best, is always about community.
