Switzerland delivered an outstanding performance at the WT President's Cup 2026 (European Edition), held from 4–7 June at the Kia Metropol Arena in Nuremberg, Germany. As a G3-ranked World Taekwondo event, the President's Cup is one of Europe's most prestigious competitions, attracting top athletes from across the continent and carrying significant world ranking points.
Davud Güllü — Gold, -73kg
Entering the tournament seeded 4th despite sitting 8th in the European rankings, Davud delivered a flawless performance across all four of his bouts. Fighting with exceptional speed and precision, he controlled each match without dropping a single round - a rare feat at this level. In the semi-final, he defeated the European No. 2 from Lithuania before going on to clinch gold against Germany in the final. The victory earns Davud 30 ranking points and puts Switzerland firmly on the European map.
Sofija Zivkovic — Silver, Juniors +68kg
Sofija competed in the Junior category and claimed a well-deserved silver medal in the +68kg division, a strong result that reflects her continued development at the international level.
